WHAT’S THEIR BEAUTY SECRET?

Green-colored chlorophyll cells within the leaves of our favorite shade trees manufacture sugar, feeding the tree all year long. Sunlit days become shorter, and the leaves empty green-colored nourishment into the tree’s circulatory system. Squirrels, along with trees, prepare for needed winter fuel.

But did you know red, orange, yellow, and even purple-colored cells hang out inside leaves all summer? Less in number, they wait for their turn to please us with a visual blaze of glorious color. Steadfastly, leaves do this every year in varying degrees of beauty and then drop to the ground. Then, they offer our garden a source of nourishing mulch for next year’s crop.

Welcome shade, visual beauty, and garden nutrition; the Creator had us in mind when placing pleasing secrets within the tree’s life cycle. And how about our life cycle? Did He plant pleasant beauty secrets within us? Humans are the only part of God’s creation created in His image. That means we alone can communicate with Him if we choose to.

I expect the marvelous workmanship that designed spirit, soul, and body desires to expose our hidden beauty secrets. As I question God’s purpose and plan for my life, He shares precious, loving directions. When I act on His way for my life, we benefit. Imagine your life is so essential that every day and the release of your beauty secrets are recorded in a heavenly book!

You made all the delicate, inner parts of my body and knit me together in my mother’s womb.  Thank you for making me so wonderfully complex! Your workmanship is marvelous–and how well I know it. You watched me as I was being formed in utter seclusion, as I was woven together in the dark of the womb. You saw me before I was born. Every day of my life was recorded in your book. Every moment was laid out before a single day had passed. How precious are your thoughts about me, O God! They are innumerable! (NLT: Psalms 139: 13 – 17)
