MY UPGRADE IS USUALLY ABOUT MY YIELDING

Many of my experiences this past year presented opportunities to advance toward personal goals. Those experiences offered choices. Move forward into prickly places or stay where more comfortable?

Those places involved engaging with people having differing opinions or habits. Large groups for extended hours felt thorny. Then there was the sense of intimidation when perceiving others more talented.

Most people recharge their emotional batteries and formulate personal opinions through conversation giving opportunity to “talk to think”.  I’m one of those who “thinks to talk” and I recharge my emotional batteries through quiet contemplation.

Even though I regard people in my life as priceless gifts, sometimes human beings wear me out. So, I’m faced with a choice. Do I follow God’s direction for achieving goals or remain in my more relaxing quietude with regrets?

The truth I learned this year; I can have both renewing rest and productive running with people. As I yield my skepticism of God’s willingness to help, he gives ability and endurance to engage despite the discomfort.

I’m growing to expect his caring presence in the midst of human engagements and know I will receive the necessary rest I require. This  expectation has released favor-filled upgrades in goal achieving opportunities.

As I rest, I’m expecting God to help me know him better and yield quickly to his loving direction. Of this I’m sure, Father God is good and wants to supply goal achieving upgrades to each and every unique individual who is willing to yield to his direction.

And let us run with endurance the race that God has set before us. We do this by keeping our eyes on Jesus, on whom our faith depends from start to finish. He was willing to die a shameful death on the cross because of the joy he knew would be his afterward. Now he is seated in the place of highest honor beside God’s throne in heaven. (NLT: Hebrews 12: 1 – 2)

Trust in the LORD with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will direct your paths. (NLT: Proverbs 3: 5 – 6)

“Enlarge your house; build an addition; spread out your home! (NLT: Isaiah 54: 2)
