CHANGING SEASONS AND UNCHANGING FACTS

The rocking bench holds evidence of nature’s change. Resting on the weathered boards are clumps of cut grass, and fallen maple tree leaves.   From that bench, one can see the squirrel’s winter home balancing on the power lines, built with branches in July.

God’s existence is confirmed by the secrets of nature’s changing seasons. His deity is invisible but readily seen in the products and actions of His creation.

Past seasons of normal seemed to hold the promise of provision and security. I’ve heard many say they can’t wait for normal to return.

But the normal around us included disintegrating families, unrestrained greed in business and government, disrespect of life, and rejection of God.

To glorify means to give honor, praise, and admiration. Glorifying God as Creator and Deliverer means to glorify Him alone. Not man, religion, wealth, government, or even creation itself. What if we choose to enter this new season embracing God and His ways?

Every day I offend someone and someone seems to offend me. I’m in great need of forgiveness and so are you. We all run amuck. It’s time to surrender to needing and following God.

So, do you oppose the unchanging fact of your need to receive God’s help through Christ? Will you let the world know your admiration of a God who heals relationships and communities? Will you sink back into quiet apathy and a false sense of security in your own resources?

The season needed seems obvious. Do you have the courage to enter that season?

Opposition to truth cannot be excused on the basis of ignorance, because from the creation of the world, the invisible qualities of God’s nature have been made visible, such as his eternal power and transcendence. He has made his wonderful attributes easily perceived, for seeing the visible makes us understand the invisible. So then, this leaves everyone without excuse.
