DO YOU KNOW THE POWER OF PEACE?

Personal gender conflict, sexual abuse and participation in violent acts cause overwhelming mental anguish and conflict in the mind. Chronic mental conflict leads to inflammation in the physical body, often resulting in disease.

We’ve all experienced lesser anxieties involving personal relationships, finances, job performance or frustration in meeting personal goals. These anxious thoughts can cause mental conflict one’s often not aware of.

When experienced over long periods of time, lack of mental peace can result in physical illness. Experiencing emotions such as anger, guilt, fear, anxiety, and frustration are all normal and human. So, what does one do with those emotions to avoid sickness and know true peace?

The quality of your physical, mental, emotional and spiritual health is directly proportional to the quality of peace you have with God, yourself and people in your life. Divine peace more powerfully effects your health than your DNA. Countless scientific studies and God’s words back up this truth!

True peace of mind and heart can only come from the One who created life and desires to protect, heal and preserve life.  All other sources of peace are man centered and do help, but cannot bring deep and lasting peace in the midst of difficult circumstances.

Because no man is perfect, man can’t deliver man from long term anger, guilt, fear, frustration, shame and other destructive emotions.

The death and resurrection of God’s Son Jesus removes all man’s guilt and shame through the payment of Jesus perfect life and blood.  A God centered life recognizes God’s provision and protection is always good, kind, loving and enough.

But this gift must be recognized, received and meditated on. My experiences of His forgiveness, comfort and peace filled presence in my mind and heart have confirmed for me the best source of peace.

Circumstances temporarily shake my thoughts. But as I recognize the conflict and direct my mind to God, His comfort and direction; peace of mind and healthy hormones flood my physical body. That’s the power and reality of God’s true and lasting peace.

“I am leaving you with a gift–peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give isn’t like the peace the world gives. So don’t be troubled or afraid.  (NLT: John 14: 27)

If your sinful nature controls your mind, there is death. But if the Holy Spirit controls your mind, there is life and peace.  (NLT: Romans 8: 6)

Don’t be impressed with your own wisdom. Instead, fear the LORD and turn your back on evil. Then you will gain renewed health and vitality. (NLT: Proverbs 3: 7 – 9)
